We look forward to hosting you here at our farm...
We do field trips at our farm yearly, starting after Strawberry Festival. These field trips give parents, teachers and students alike the opportunity to learn about our farm and about how strawberries are grown. At the end of the day, we hope you'll leave with a better understanding of the local strawberry industry and how important it is that we keep it alive! Oh yeah...and you can bring home some of our sweet delicious berries!
Upon arrival, each child will be given a bucket. We suggest that you bring name tags so that you may place each childs name on their bucket (extra plastic bags from somewhere like Wal-Mart are suggested as well so that the children can put their buckets in them on the way home so they don't get messy!). The children will meet with Mrs. Rhonda and she will lead them to a spot in the field where they will have a chance to see the berries and pick a bucket full for themselves! We encourage anyone attending to fill not ONLY their bucket, but their bellies as well!
After this, the children will have a break for lunch and then Mrs. Rhonda will tell them about our farm. She will go through the history of the farm, tell them how strawberry farming has changed through the years and answer questions.
Parents and teachers are allowed to order additional flats, if available. We encourage you to have a preliminary order total ready when you arrive at the farm so we can make sure we can accommodate. There will also be homemade strawberry jam, jelly and bread for sale!
We look forward to having your group at our farm! Please contact us via the form on the contact page or by phone, email or Facebook to schedule your trip!

For our pre-school teachers... I just ran across this excellent tool for a unit on strawberries! It has quite a few activities that would be fun to do with your class before a trip to the farm! I got it from the USDA's site and figured I'd post it here for all who are interested!
